2011 Fall Commencement Ceremony
On October 9, Florida National College celebrated its 2011
Fall Commencement ceremony at the James L. Knight Center. Over 200
students received their degrees, as witnessed by friends and family as well as
many members of their FNC family, including trustees, faculty, staff, and
administrators. A number of students also received certificates and diplomas in number of programs, including ESL, Dental Assisting, Practical Nursing, and many others. As with any FNC function, the sense of
family infused the proceedings as presided over by our President, Mrs.
Maria C. Regueiro. She reminded the
graduates that they are capable of reaching any of their dreams and goals after
graduation. As proof, the Commencement’s guest speaker, Hiram Abi Paz, Jr., shared his own inspiring story as a recent
arrival to the United States. With the benefit of an FNC education and
hard work, he was able to continue his studies, obtain his law degree, and
become an attorney. Javier Garcia and Maria T. Rivera, as student
salutatorian and valedictorian respectively, also encouraged their fellow
graduates to persevere and draw from their FNC experience to continue to serve
their families, communities, and chosen fields of endeavor. FNC’s 2011
Fall Commencement ceremonies showed once again the strength of the school’s
mission and the vision of its founder, Dr. Jose Regueiro,
to prepare students to enrich its community.
